STEVE COPPELL...

20% of this season’s Barclays Premiership managers all have a Crystal Palace pedigree. Newly promoted Reading boss Steve Coppell will take on his former players Coleman, Pardew and Southgate in the new Premiership campaign beginning with an opening day tie against Gareth Southgate. Steve Coppell has been speaking to Sue McCann.

The Premiership gets started in a few days time…Ready or not?

“It’s hard to say, you can never tell. You always think that you are ready as you’ll ever be, but until it comes to the crunch you can just never, ever tell. Realistically for a team who’s going from one division to the next you don’t really know 100% what you are preparing for. so there’s always going to be an element of a step into the dark.â€

Good article, cheers.

The whole season will be a massive learning curve, for fans and club alike, and I hope the majority of fans realise that. Patience and loud support is the order of the season, that will go along way to helping the lads through the darker days.

Really can't wait to get started Saturday. I normally leave here about 9am to get to the madstad by 1pm, but I'm setting off about 7am to soak up as much of the pre-match atmosphere as possible.

I think Southgate's in for a hard hard day! :P

20% with a Palace pedigree? Shouldn't that be 25% or doesn't Dowie count?

Apparently Dowie did, about 30 games in 1995 according to Soccerbase.
