Harps in food illness scare

JAMES HARPER says he will continue his pre-match ritual of eating a fry-up – providing he doesn’t have to cook it himself.

The midfield ace has taken to eating full breakfasts before a game this season, but he made himself ill ahead of Sunday’s 1-0 win over Derby by failing to cook the sausages properly.

“I have a fry-up before a game,â€

Glad to hear that the nutritionists haven't taken over altogether.
If James gets all of his fantastic energy from eating that stuff then it's the full English for me every day now rather than a few times a year.
Not that I would ever be influenced by what a professional footballer does or says.

running about like harper does can only be affected negatively by a huge mega breakfast before a game.

It's not like he does he half an hour before!

The way he's played and the amount of running he does week-in week-out he can eat what the hell in likes.

This is just Harps agent spinning stuff before launching James on his media career.
My bet is we see hyper crabman mincing it on telly in a pinny with Ainsley friggin Harriot. Silly sausage.
<-- Ainsley "Friggin" Harriot.

bad attitude IMO-sports science is important, nutrition is important, it all improves performance by degrees

your statement is akin to:

"gascoine can drink as much as he likes, as long as he carries on playing like he does"

when in fact people should be wondering what a player he could be without the booze/fryup

Apart from the fact that it will provide him with the huge amount of calories he needs to last 90 minutes, your statement is entirely correct.

Anyway, why doesn't Harper go to the Gorge cafe? Surely they do a much better breakfast than Sainsbury or Asda?

As I have already mentioned. I can knock up a quality feast as well. Why eat the sh*te on offer at the Supermarkets?

He doesn't live in Caversham anymore, he lives over Arborfield way near the training ground

I'm getting quite hungry thinking about a slap up English Breakfast right now. I could do with a good and proper fry up at this moment.

calories that could be obtained in vastly higher quantities, with less weight, and fats, and more easily digestable by eating a better sporting breakfast

This confirms all that has been said about the empty space between Harper's ears.

Has it adversely affected his performances this season over last? No.

Does he feel better for eating it? Yes.

Have the club stopped his from eating it? No.

I find it also soaks up a hangover, so this backs up my theory even more that a fry up is very healthy.

Thats not very nice, is it?

He's our midfield kingpin. No need to call him a moron.
