.Jesus we win a game and we are going up as Champions we lose and its the end of the world.
We are what we are an average team in an average league with the team we are playing at the moment being what i think will turn out to be the ONLY outstanding team in this division..

That's a Derby fan.

Good to see that every club has one
New England Ram Jesus we win a game and we are going up as Champions we lose and its the end of the world.

DCFC4EVA Reading have the best team in the ccc ..
Their players have been together for a few seasons ..
And they have quality players

Look at how much Hunt & Doyle cost them ..
Quality can be found for a cheap price,
People keep saying spend Money ..
Reading are an example of how to build a good team

Yep.

LOL at us being 'the Chelsea of this division.'

I take it he didn't mean by spending money. Still nice to read in a way though

It's great to read. Win, lose or draw we're always going to play with a passing style in this League at any rate, nice to see the opposition complimenting us.

I agree. We are really a team to fear at home. Good to see we are seen as certs for promotion by fans of other teams.
The good thing is that we will have played all the likely promotion contenders away from home(QPR excepted) before Christmas. If we can stay in contention we will have the likes of Brum, Wolves and Sheff Utd at the Mad Stad next year and that bodes well.
I thought we would win the division at the start of the season and still think that we will.

Yeah, me too, always knew we were good enough - the more teams we beat, the more it looks like we're going to be.
Still need a good unbeaten run though.

I thought we'd be mid-table at best, no question. Happy to be pilloried and receive the equivalent of rotten egss and tomoatoes.

The reasons we seem to be doing so well this year include

Doyle back on form ... and then some
S Hunt being able to cross a ball and learnt how to deliver a corner (completely different style to last year)
Armstrong easily filling Shorey's boots
The rest of the division bar Brum and Wolves being pants
At last the opportunities being given to a few younger memebers of the team, who have doen themselves proud generally so far this season
but for me the emergence of N Hunt has been the huge positive we really needed following relegation.

There are still downsides.

We so need a right winger who can produce an end product rather than give a passable impression of Mr Woo. Given the standard the other players are maintaining at present we can carry this nonsense for now.
We also need a centre-back who has pace.
Most importantly, we need to retain Doyle and the Hunts in January. If one of those 3, (never mind 2 or all 3), leave we will be in trouble.

Oh, lastly, once again Nr 13 seemed to be in full flow again judging by the noise on Reading107FM. This seems to be a regular occurence now judging from the games I've managed to get to or heard via the internet. Is it my imagination, or do we seem louder and more confident this year?

It's gratifying that other fans see us a serious contenders.

Pace at centre back?? Bikey's pretty swift although Ingi is slow granted and Pearce is no Billy The Whizz either.
You are still very hard on Kebe. He is by no means perfect but has been involved in his fair share of assists.

Fair enough, never will understand the point you made in bold though.

Surely that's a sign that we're a good side, if we were worse, we would be lower than where we are now.
It is our fault that we're doing as well as we are, no-one else's.

Why didn't you think we stood a chance this year?

Strap Are you for real???

Kebe has been terrorising oppo defences with his runs off the ball and pace when he has it, apart from setting up goals (and scoring chances for his colleagues).
BK has pace a plenty, totally commanding the defence and scaring the shite out of oppo forwards.

Scoring seven and conceding one in two games is good enough for me and I am not sure that any other player in this league would get a game in our side.

I think you need to get out more !

Strap, I often agree with you but not on this occasion:

Kebe has been a revelation - teams put two players on him. Of course he's not Ronaldo but if he was he wouldn't be playing for us.
The home support today was rubbish - could barely muster a song and when we did it soon petered out.
We have a CB with pace - Bikey outruns every opposition forward by jogging let alone running. Ingi wins every header and Bikey covers him for pace. It's a great partnership.
There's little wrong at the mo but beware - if Doyle/NHunt get injured we will struggle.

To be fair, Long looked sharp when he came on. It would be interesting to see if he could step up to a starting role should one of Doyle/Nhunt get injured.

He's shown on several occasions he can't. I think much like Lita, Long's days at the club are numbered. He has potential, but needs to play consistently at a lower level to have a hope of realising it.

He's a useful bench player in the meantime though.
