What the Southampton fans think...

Starts with talk about tickets, then I stick an oar in...

They don't like the fact that I think we'll win, and also seem to think our team is a joke. quite why our team that's third in the league is a joke, I don't know, but they do...

Well that was disappointing, I read through all of that and all I learnt is that they get better avatars.

For some reason, their shit board only lets me reply once in each topic... Took 4 days to activate my membership too.

I can't even get on their board cos it's blocked.
4 days is pretty quick, took me about 2 years to get my hobnob account activated!

I like how they contiunally refer to us as " plastic". Their fanbase has halved in the last 4 years, THATS plastic.

Yes, ours has fluctuated but has remained reasonably constant, at around the 20,000 mark.

Plastic indeed.

In the last 4 years perhaps......

To be fair, they've probably had the drop on us the majority of the 123 years since their formation.

Winchester, if someone posted similar comments about our team in hobnob there would be plenty of nobbers ready to defend our club/supporters.

But perhaps not to insult that supporter's club.

I 'ate Southampton, its a grubby place filled with chav's and fat people. I'm not suprised by those comments.

Strange, I thought the insulting comments were surprisingly few in number and only the sort of harvest that should have been expected, given the nature of the seed sown!

What's more, it's nice to see the comments encouraging other Saints' supporters to do their bit in the tribute to Stewart McEwan.

Agreed.

Or should that be +1? I get confused at my time of life.

"Loving Winchester the Reading fans arrogance, funny stuff. Ahh reading, such a forced and sudden rise to glory, such a plastic fanbase. I cant imagine being a reading fan, yea it must be nice to be winning matches, but to be surrounded by ******s, small children and people who know nowt about football week in, week out must be..hard to bare!"

yes, it really is hard to bare

"I cant imagine being a reading fan"
Good thing you're not then! Is it me, or does this fan sound really narrow minded? i hope we win on saturday. i hope Doyle plays well tonight and i hope he's on tip top form Saturday too! Maybe at the match, while im sitting in Y19-freezing my socks off and while it's 0-0, i shall suggest that Doyle or any player from Reading, score a goal, just like i did last weekend...and it worked! 8)

It's amusing that someone who thinks we have had a 'sudden' rise to glory then criticises us for our lack of knowledge of football...

Our rise to glory took longer than any other club has ever taken !

Southampton is an excellent club but sadly the move from that great old ground The Dell had the tragic effect of allowing a whole load of people to get to games who had no footballing background or knowledge - and now some of them have got internet access as well.

Not wanting to become a Saints apologist but couldn't that sentence accuratley describe Reading and our moving from Elm Park to the Mad Stad?

I couldn't give a damn about Southampton. Certainly not whipping myself up into a frenzy over some sort of deluded faux-rivalry. Just another team really. As we normally do pretty well against them I can certainly tolerate their existence but they don't even remotely register on the hatred richter scale for me. Still, you knock yourselves out pretending that this is in any way shape or form a grudge match.
