Bikey In. Duberry Out.

by PEARCEY » 10 Mar 2009 22:01

Just seen Charlton's equaliser and again Duberry was beaten to the ball for the second time in four days. This is going to cost us dear.
Two more dropped points.
How much longer is our best central defender going to warm the bench?

He has played well but has been responsible for too many goals recently

More mistakes than Bikey, so Bikey should come in. Yes!

When you're playing against five in midfield with just one up front you need someone to bring the ball out of defence and Bikey can do that.

I was screaming that all through the game, our distribution from the back was appalling, while bottom club Charlton played it around back to front with ease and confidence, what do the coaches actually do on the training pitch?

But duberry is the best defender in the world because he did a great tackle to set up an attack that led to a goal a game or two ago.

Something I noticed Duberry does against a one man attack is to let that one man get the ball first, thus getting the opposition posession.

I guess the theory is the flicks don't go to anyone but the guy tonight was getting on his chest and on to the floor and setting stuff up. I'd like to think Bikey would win those balls most times.

Pearce is looking very good though.

Many (including me) were answering the critics of the Pearce-Doobs partnership by saying, "Look at the goals-against column"

Well now the GA column is looking VERY rough indeed 2-1-1-2-2,

08 conceded in the last 5 games (1.6 per game)
26 conceded in the previous 31 games (0.84 per game)

so virtually twice as leaky

Interesting that Harper didn't start in 4 of those 5 games.

Agreed. Just seen the goal too. Doobs didn't even attempt the challenge! Didn't he give away the frickin free kick too? Bring back Bikey and keep Tabb instead of Hunt. Lots of positive signs tonight but our defence has gone to pieces recently.

I agree...i think we stand a better chance being down to 10men when he gets sent off after 20mins...and then banned for 3 games....

Bikey IN...

Oh and can't wait to see him elegantly bring the ball out of defence dribbling it around the striker on the bobbly pitch only to lose it and allow them in on goal...but hey...he's the best player in the world so we aren't allowed to say anything negative about him are we!!!

must say LOLz at the Doobs bashers after last week there were threads praising his performances this season.

Must say I thought he had the poorest game i've seen him play in yonks, still wasn't the worst player on the pitch. Step forward Liam Rosenior. (if you can manage that without either falling over or just hoofing it aimlessly forward)

Yes, what the f*ck WAS Rosenoir playing at? Receive ball, hoof down wing, receive ball, hoof down wing...

Saw Little have a word with him at one point asking him to play the ball along the ground. Must be so demoralising for a passing player to see the ball hoofed over your head.
