Access to the pitch after the game

by Philly Flyer » 25 Sep 2006 19:09

Apologies if this has appeared on another thread but on Saturday for the first time in years I was prevented from getting into the Lower West at the end of the game form inside Gate 2. Every afternoon kick-off match, including Boro this season, I take my son down to the pitch for autographs and to watch the media before heading off to the car park but on Saturday we were denied access by a Steward. When I asked if this was a one off "because it's United" he said yes but I wonder how many more "one offs" there will be this season?? (Chelsea, Arsenal etc etc).

Anyone know anything about this as I was pretty annoyed at the change and it was disappointing for my son. :(

You really need to understand that now we are a PL club the fans are not a priority - thankfully the players have not yet had the prima donna classes that our ST money will soon buy.....

I got in to the Lower West concourse and down to the dugouts without any problems on Saturday.

I don't know why me and my boys bother anymore as the only player that seems to come out is Marcus.

Relieved to see no repeat of the "no access" to the pitch side after yesterday's game..hope that will now continue for the rest of the season.
Mind you, some Chelsea fans seemed to have no problem getting very close to the pitch, even during the game, and rather than autographs were able to get the shirts off their "heroes".
