Spotters Badge She shouldn't get an ST. Just buy tickets on a match by match basis at the concessionary rate as she will be over 65 when she goes to buy a ticket. She can review the situation in December when the HST go on sale.

As far as the cut off goes there are always going to be winners and losers.

thats what she is going to do

Why is the cutoff not October 24th. Then I would be inside the cutoff by a day. Everyone has to follow the same cutoff date rules, it's just the way it goes. Some people gain from it and some people don't. Tough luck if you don't I guess!

She will need to show proof of age still, and match day tickets have the same cut off date, bad luck.

Dirk Gently or perhaps it's to tie up with the academic year, so that two kids in the same class at school wouldn't be in different price bands.

Considering the academic year cut-off is 1st September, I very much doubt that

Don't the age groups for Junior Football also operate with a 1st September cut-off date?

Quite, and August 1st makes the most sense.

It is the first day of the month in which the season always starts, people will have purchased their STs before the season begins so set the b'day cut off date before the first game. That date changes annually so rather than changing it around pick the first date of that month as a benchmark date, it's going to be no wore then 2 and a bit weeks before the opening game so 99% will have already made a purchase.

Have the date on say the 1st Sept and there will be people paying less than they should for some games and possibly some paying more, some people will always miss out but hey that's life.

Season Tickets for 'old' ladies

by mogs » 12 Jun 2008 16:02

Hello,
I'm a new 'hob Nob'. I'm a female OAP and would like to buy a Season Ticket. However, I'm not 65 so don't meet the concessionary ticket criteria, and I can't afford the full price. Do any other older lady supporters feel that concessionary prices should be extended to female OAPs age 60 and over?
(Pleased that the reserve matches are returning to the Madj Stad - I can afford reserve match prices)!

Why should the boundries of the category be moved? Maybe we should just make it over 55's, or maybe over 70s? Your suggestion makes no sense.

I have a lot of sympathy with this - and this is one area where RFc is out of step with most other clubs.

The reirment age for women is 60, and for men it's 65, so the logic, you would assume, is that the concession is intened to apply to retirment age - but it doesn't.

It's a blanket 65, regardless of sex, so all those women who have retired at 60 and no longer have a wroking income still have to pay the fulll price.

I wasn't trying to be sexist in seeking the opinion of other female OAPs. Simply stating that it seems a bit unfair that female OAPs who retire at 60 have to wait until they are 65 to receive the concessionary ticket prices enjoyed by male OAPs.

Other clubs and organisations offer concessionary prices to all senior citizens who receive a state 'old age' pension whether 60 or 65.

No offence intended.

Do you currently attend games at the Madstad, as if so a ST is the cheaper way of doing so, the new Lower ST prices should be affordable to most people, or have you just been priced out like many others?

Agree with Dirk, the female OAP reduced price should come into play at 60.
On a side issue, would the OAP 'free bus pass' cover the matchday football buses?

I attend home matches approx once a month, but would like to attend and support more often. So concessionary rate tickets and ST would be helpful. I attend on my own as male members of the family are not interested in footie.

I use my over 60s free bus pass on the matchday football buses from Reading station to the ground.

Thanks for all comments.
