Those Were The Days

Thinking back to the meeting about the new Stadium at Prospect Park Mansion House, question asked , why no roof??

N Howe telling questioner , if you have £2m we can have a roof, bet it would be handy tomorrow evening, is going to be about 3 degrees at KO, fan heaters would be useful too!!,, does anyone have heated seats, or areas of the grounds heated within English football??

You need these, you wuss http://www.heatedseats.biz/

Quite a few American football stadia have heated seats for some of the ground - and I'd be amazed if some here didn't - if only in the exec/hospitality areas.

I have never sat in a heated seat at a stadium but I have watched the Calgary Stampeders play when the half time temperature was -15. That, I suspect is the difference; when it is cold over there it is really cold!

Yea, Chelsea do in their corporate seating. They have heaters above your head. I sat there when we drew 2-2 with Chelsea on Boxing day. No need for a jacket, it was nice and toasty.

The perfect winter underwear for watching football is one of those adult sized fleece baby-grows that you get to go under a drysuit as used by dinghy sailors. Costs around £10 and VERY TOASTY!

At some point in everyone's lives being cool > being warm becomes being warm >>> being cool :D

The only downside is when you go for a pi$$ you are basically unzipping your fly all the way from the neck down...

I have reached the point where substance wins over style. Took the other half last week and we sat with a blanket over our knees to keep warm and am seriously considering taking said blanket tonight even though I am on my tod.

The David Fishwick Stand at the Burnley ground was built with those magnificent wooden seats which were originally heated seats (where we were in 2006) but the facility is not in use.
