Harry Carry I would say so. Wouldn't be a problem if the club were based nearer the Town centre.

If you go to NY, there are Knicks, Rangers, Yankees, Giants etc posters/billboards up everywhere.

Doesn't the top of the Empire State Building also change to team colours? Like if the Knicks are playing it goes Orange and Blue.

Not every time they play but it does do so for special occasions

Obviously the fact they didn't do so for our championship winning season means we're small time

OK so Reading doesn't hve the Empire State Building. However, there were banners in Braod Steet celebrating promotion to the Premiership.

Have to say you can go to almost any town or city in the country and not be aware of the football club unless you go looking for the ground.

Dublin is an obvious exception because you see the Man Utd store at the airport as you arrive.

I've never seen much Southampton related material beyond the ground, Manchester did have a big poster campaign promoting the biggest club in the city but I guess the Blues don't need that anymore and I would guess you'd need to go to Surrey to find Chelsea billboards....

Southampton have a shop in the City centre. Manchester United and Chelsea are big enough names and market themselves well, by going to different countries like the States and Asia. No small countries like IreLOLand and Sweden.

IIRC, there has been a shop in Market Place leaing up to Christmas a few years back. There has also been a concession in Debenhams in the Oracle. Isn't replica kit and other items available in John Lewis in Broad St?

What's more of an issue is the quality and range of merchandise available coupled with the extortionate cost of it all.

Harry Carry
Silver Fox There are 3 Mets and 3 Yankees shops in Manhattan, not seen one for any of the other pro clubs

However, I'm not entirely sure what your point is :|

Reading are a small time club with small time ideas.

Does it matter? I cant be arsed with all this size business anymore. We are supporters of Reading Football Club and I would go even if 10 people showed up as long as I get Football League standard football (or higher).

LOL at all the suckers who forked out £40 or so for something that now costs a mere £10. Give it a few more weeks and the shirts will be down to a fiver.
