Why is it only Union that has this problem?

Look at the state of the Hull, Wigan & Huddersfield pitches when they got them back in September, they were immaculate despite constant use from February. And a lot of the cutting up seems to be in the goal area, which is one of the least used areas in both codes.

When is the natural growing season for grass? March to October? Perhaps it's better being used constantly throughout the year rather than intensively in the dormant period.
