I haven't seen another post on here lately regarding sponsorship, so please delaete if i have missed it. Basically from a waitrose website which is for partners it has been announced that waitrose have extended their deal for a furthur 2 years. The article is below:
We are delighted to spread some early festive cheer to Reading FC fans, by announcing that we have signed a further two-year sponsorship deal with the club. We are currently in its third season of sponsoring Reading FC having first signed up to support the club in 2008, and are the only food retailer in Britain to have this kind of deal with a major football team.
As part of its sponsorship of the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons, our name will continue to appear on the team’s home and away kits, special offers will be available to season ticket holders, and we will supply food for the players’ away matches.
Commercial Director, Mark Williamson, said, “We’re delighted to extend our commitment to Reading Football Club and its supporters by sponsoring the team for the next two seasons. The partnership has already enabled us to support the community in one of our prime retailing areas and broadened the exposure of our brand on both a local and national level. We look forward to building on the success of the partnership and further realising its potential in the years ahead.”
Pat Coyne, Commercial Director at Reading FC added, “We are absolutely delighted that Waitrose has extended its contract with us. Our partnership to date has been very successful and we are looking forward to continuing that for a further two years at least. We share the same brand values, together we are very proactive in a number of joint initiatives, especially engaging with fans in the local community, and we are proud to wear the Waitrose logo on our shirt.”
We are also planning to hold a number of activities and promotions for fans over the next two years, such as at last Saturday’s home match against Coventry City, when its green Santas handed out 10,000 Christmas crackers to Reading supporters. 90 lucky fans found themselves the winners of prizes including up to £100 of Waitrose vouchers, a case of wine, a Waitrose Christmas hamper or Reading FC replica shirts, after finding winning tickets inside their crackers.
