FAO the drummers

So I've never been your biggest fans - I've always thought your main reason for doing it was egotistical, and it still baffles me how you can kill any sort of atmosphere that's been naturally generated (indeed there's been occasions where you look quite pissed off when a chant starts that wasn't of your own making). However when people really moan about you I generally find myself defending you - during some of the less enthralling games of the season you are sometimes the only person willing to make any noise, and I genuinely believe that without you 4/5ths of the North Stand would spend every game in complete and utter silence.

But for as much as I have tried to defend you, can you please, please, please stop doing what's been happening for the past couple of games - that is playing this continuous 'soft' drum beat throughout the entire game. I know the game on Saturday was boring, but it's even more intolerable when you've got a crappy beat playing in the background. I know you've got some snazzy new drums but that doesn't suddenly make you all Dave Grohl. If you want to spend your Saturday afternoons having a jam session with your mates, hire a music studio. By all means blast away with Reading chants and try to get the crowd going, but that annoying little drum beat the rest of the time that has nothing to do with supporting Reading and everything to do with indulging yourself is just pathetic. It's almost as bad as when you decided to get that terrible band in for last season (who thankfully disappeared as soon as we started playing badly - their demise was the best thing about our relegation). And it's almost as bad as the twat somewhere up near you who spends the whole game moaning about Pogrebnyak.

we should limit it to one feckin drum as well. dont need a whole percussion section playing in a synchopated jazz style.
just one bloke who when we sing blue army, can make his drum go bang bang.

Although the drums at Derby created a great atmosphere because there was some actual rhythm involved.
