Island Lounge

by Harpers So Solid Crew » 04 Sep 2015 13:18

Fairly recently opened places on Kennet Island, was lunch time and passing through when noticed it.
Handy for mad stay on match days, over took 5 mins for beer to be brought, and half an hour for microwaved food, which I had finished before her baguette had even appeared.
You have been warned, avoid

What beers do they have? Just bottled lager or anything more interesting?

Can you get though Kennet Island in a car?

The F31 football bus goes that way on the journey home, but it uses a bus lane.

Thanks, that's worth knowing the next time I take a car full of garden waste down to the tip.

You have to pay extra for it in Wokingham, which is completely shit.

They need to start collecting glass kerbside.

Agree in the glass, but not garden. If you don't like it move to Reading, or get an allotment, half the price of having it collected. And you can grow stuff. They are available in Woodley.

I wonder how many people actually move house solely on the basis of kerbside waste collection arrangements.

If you were to - where would you go? Is Reading really the promised land you make out? Rochford in Essex* apparently has the highest rates of recycling - good for the eco warriors but is life really much happier there as a result I wonder?

As stated above, for Wokingham you have to buy a recycle bin and pay something like £50 a year for it to be collected fortnightly.

When I cut my front hedge down from 8ft to 5ft I would have filled that wheely bin 4 times over and it would have taken 2 months for it to be collected at one collection a fortnight. Some of the residents in my street just burn their garden waste once it's dried out.

I tend to do binge gardening, let it overgrow and then when people complain chop it all down.

Don't bother with the Island Lounge, it's tiny and is a poor experience all round. You're better off going to the Fan Zone outside the East Stand, which is getting better and better as the games go on.

I find it hard to take someone with a username like WAZZOCK at face value.

Is this a wind up :?:
