brendywendy
floyd__streete I think that the club could turn the dome into a concentration camp and Brendy would still defend RFC.

im as liklely to defend it regardless, as some on here are likely to attack it regardless.

and the more its attacked the more i feel obliged to try and explain the clubs decisions as i see them.

especially if the atack is based enmtirely on made up opinions and specualtion.
if the facts come out ill happily criticise the club.
in the last month alone i have made three comments on this forum that could be seen as negative toward the club in some way.

thanks big mike- thats is what i am saying.
could i employ you as my spokesperson in future?

You could employ me as spokesperson but for what its worth as no-one actually reads what is being said anyway

Royal Lady Bendy - shirley, it would have been prudent, even leaving it as late as knowing we were through, to have sat down next morning and worked out who our possible opponents were going to be, when the games might be and then work out how many we tickets we thought we'd need for each permutation. Once City knew they were through, they would have rung us or us them (I don't know what happens there) and the number of tickets we required would be advised then. We could have then told them that we'd have "xx amount and ,by the way Mr Ticket Office person at Man City, when is the latest we can tell you if we want more?"

I'll do it next time we get in a similar position. They just need to give me a call and I'll pop up and sort out the numbers for them.

as i understand it we needed to put our full allocation request in before we knew who/when/where we would play.

agree its probably the failure in communication at that point which seems to be mostly to blame, we thought wed be able to go back for more- man city thought that that was our final total allocation.
happy for that criticism to be levelled at the club dependant on the timelines being confirmed etc.

Calling Man city may have been pointless if the speculation that they starting to sell the tickets next to the inital allocation immediatly after their game is actually true.

Well how did we tell them how many tickets we wanted then? If we didn't contact them?

They would have been informed what we wanted as an initial allocation. Maybe the club did call them when it was clear that we were playing city but as they allegedly started selling the tickets next to the block initally allocated to Reading after their game Reading were told no go away.

Theres far too many ifs and buts

we had to give our allocation before we knew which team it would be against didnt we?
the morning after the game we went back and said can we have more
they came back and said Soz- weve already started selling those seats

thats the time line as i understand it,
but since i am only the unnofficial mouthpiece of the club i cant be certain either way.

How could you say how many you wanted before knowing who you were playing?

Royal Lady How could you say how many you wanted before knowing who you were playing?

thats my point-hence why the requested number was squiffy.
but this may all be wrong- depending on the time line

No not yet, and the post has just been. Bought first thing Monday, normally away tickets received either the next day or 2 days later. I suppose this is many more tickets than they're used to dealing with by post. Perhaps just as well they restricted it...

You would think that both Reading and Everton would have been asked by Villa and City how many tickets they would like as an inital allocation. So that they tickets would be issued and the sale of those tickets started asap so that they can sell as many tickets as possible.

it may be that City did not see the numbers as an inital allocation and as soon as they went through started selling tickets.

Who knows?
Will the fans ever know?
Is it worth getting upset and giving yourself a coronary about without knowing the facts?

brendywendy we had to give our allocation before we knew which team it would be against didnt we?

I don't think so, although it's a bit unclear.

The OS Clubs have to make their initial indication for ticket allocations when the draw for the relevant round is made, which in this case was back on 20th February....At that stage, we indicated to both Villa and City that circa 2,800 would be our preferred allocation,

The OS When the deadline came to finalise our allocation on Wednesday, less than 24 hours after our win at Everton, free coach travel had naturally not been discussed and could not have an impact on our decision at that time.

I can't imagine you have to give a definite allocation requirement without knowing who you're playing, for starters your entitled allocation would vary depending on where you're playing and the size of that ground.

If we had to finalise our allocation on Wednesday we cant have known who we were playing as City played Villa on Wednesday evening. Maybe the deadline was set by the FA with the view that the cup games were to be played on the weekend????
