Ground car park

As my late dad got older he too found that it was harder to walk up the hill to the ground, the obvious answer is for the buses to drop people at the actual ground, not at the bottom of the hill. it surely would not adversly affect anyone, and would only need a small amount or decent organisation. Anyone fancy bringing this up with STAR?

in fact the best idea would be to drive to the nearest stop on one of the match day bus routes and get on for a 6 quid- your dad will be on his bus pass,
you get to go to and from the game for 6 quid between the two of you, and it gets you home quicker than if you parked by the stadium

or you just park in a residential road.

Can anyone who regularly leaves early confirm what time they close the car park barriers? Left just after the third goal yesterday, assuming I had until the 90 minute point to get out, only to find the barriers were already shut amidst much beeping of horns.

The barriers are closed normally on the final whistle or when there are too many fans exiting the ground early (as they did yesterday) and it is then no longer safe to have cars and pedestrians mix...mainly down to the cars paying zero regard to the safety of pedestrians.

I think the club actually got it right yesterday and tbh it didn't take that much longer than normal to get home. What I did think was ridiculous were the number of selfish mongs removing cones, threatening stewards etc trying to get out when any sensible person could see it was impossible to do so because of the number of pedestrians.

There really are some complete melts around...If you want to make sure you can get home in time for the end of final score, don't park in the stadium car park....it really is that simple!!!

Get a bike/ motorbike. It's the only way to cope with the traffic. I can usually get from the mad stad back to croydon in a hour with mine. They still make you wait for the buses though.

Or just wait......... It's an awful car park, always has been and always will be, you just get used to it. But the stewards .....what's the point no one takes a blind but if notice, but saying that they do nothing...just stand and point, then you ignore them and they bugger off.

Yeah, this. I can get back to faringdon quicker on the bike than I used to get back to crowthorne on the bus.

+1 there were some idiots behind the lead bus yesterday removing signs and cones to try and get out. The cone truck then tried to block the road and an idiot in a transit van weaved between all the cones and almost took out a couple of kids. The lack of regard for pedestrians post match is pretty shocking. If you park at the ground, why would you think that you would be able to escape in a reasonable amount of time
