Quite right - don't make the same mistakes as the old regime.

Could they have moved the Cardiff home game to Good Friday if the teams wanted an extra days rest. There are 8 other Championship games on the Friday.

starliaison Thank you for your support, Ian, but I disagree, in that we feel we should engage our critics, within reason, not ignore them.

If someone comes along and says, look, Melchester Rovers Supporters Trust have done this, this and this and STAR hasn't, then we should a) know about it and b) try and do something about it as we believe - looking objectively at membership numbers, benefits and engagement with club and fans - we are one of the stronger trusts of clubs in our division.

But please don't expect this number of posts from starliaison every day!

Yes, well constructive criticism is always good. "Yeurgh, what have you ever done, slate the club" isn't what I'd consider constructive.

To be honest, I don't blame the Football Clubs on this, I blame the league for sending us to Blackpool on Easter Monday after a home game on the Saturday, which would give us no preparation time for the fixture as the team would be travelling on the Saturday. I am surprised the fixture hasn't been changed sooner to be honest as it has been the case that the Easter Monday game has been put back on both occasions when we have had a fixture on the date (Brighton in 2012 and Middlesbrough last season). I believe Star have the right to be unhappy as well as people, who might have already booked trains/hotels for a game on Monday in the knowledge that hotels will be expensive over the Easter weekend. Maybe an alternative would have been to move the Cardiff game to Good Friday (something that may still happen) which would still be part of the Easter weekend, rather than the Tuesday night after it.

I'd sooner the players had an extra day's rest than risk injury and fatigue just to please you lot.

That's not strictly true though is it Starliaison?

I have personally suggested a number of perceived improvements for the benefit of members, such as allocated seat numbers when you book away coaches, and on each occasion they have been completely ignored, maybe because it does not benefit those running STAR themselves who travel away?

I bet Blackpool wouldn't be disappointed if STAR moved though.

RG30 And all those moaning about traffic..we managed to play Blackpool successfully on Easter Monday in 2009.

Not so sure it was that successful mate, we spaffed a 2-0 lead

starliaison, are you willing to post the letter/email to the club here for the benefit of all? Conscious of the fact that many will be sceptical as to whether it contains enough beef to have an effect, or indeed whether it resembles your statement on your website.

HH - I don't have the final version but the last draft I saw was rather shorter and a tad beefier than our published statement.

Moreover I'm not convinced of the wisdom of sharing what was intended as private correspondence in an open forum such as this, if you don't mind. Hence the rationale for the statement.

It's the right approach - You can't Reading FC to engage with STAR when STAR have concerns to raise if STAR theirselves don't engage with it's members/those they represent when they wish to raise concerns/criticise STAR.

Your request for allocated seat numbers on away coaches is an unusual if not unique one as far as I can find out. Apart from that fact alone the reason it's not done is to allow for greater flexibility. Sometimes we have to merge two coach lists into one if a trip isn't as popular as expected; sometimes we end up with a slightly different size vehicle - 51 seats instead of 53 and need to move people around. If you have a particular need to sit somewhere specific because of infirmity or whatever you can make a personal request to the travel team and they'll do their best to oblige. Sorry if you felt ignored and hope this answer suffices.

STAR never sent it on account of running out of stamps. Very disappointing

Yes but only on the desperately hard to access Tiger & Hurricane website, not a gignormous portal like HNA.

Since the advent of electronic mail the STAR stamp book gathers dust. It's the club who might be considered short of a stamp.

starliaison Surprised to be the first with the news here but another Bank Holiday fixture has bitten the re-arranged dust.

Blackpool away has moved from Bank Holiday Easter Monday 3pm to the following day at 7.45pm. There doesn't seem to us to be any particularly good reason for this and STAR has written to the club to express its disappointment in this matter.

There is also a statement on the STAR website making the case for Bank Holiday football for the fans' benefit.

Surely it was done because we played on saturday (instead of friday like most others) and wanted to avoid 2 games in 48 hours.

I would question why we played on saturday and not friday tbh.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the purpose of professional football was designed to entertain the fans.

This doesn't seem to be the case........................
