The 17 Bus This is really pissing me off now, why cant they hand out a returnable ticket?? there is a limit to how may can get on the bus, so hand them out then count them back in, as soon as all are in drive off, now I know that means that if one person has a problem, there is a rela worry, but something needs to be done to make the whole system work better.

I use the Stagecoach bus from Basingstoke and the driver always counts everyone back on.

No idea why the Wokkers one can't.

Absolutely no reason why that can't be done but don't forget there any some folk who don't use the bus both ways.

Simplest solution is to publish a realistic timetable and stick to it, then everyone knows where they stand and if, heaven forbid, they have to leave in good time.

For what it is worth, I have emailed Stage Coach explaining what happened and requesting more time after matches to reach the bus.

If you would like to do the same their emaill address is customer.services@stagecoachgroup.com

Here's an idea.... move the bus stop to outside the Megastore so that people have less of a walk. Rather than have a queue of cars who want to be 'first out' (you know the ones...... stationery for ten minutes with their engines running) the buses can park up in the road displacing the cars. This would require RFC to prevent cars from leaving the car parks before the buses had left.

It's that or bring back the steps of death.

Billy The Fish Unbelievable! So now I understand why people leave before the end of the game. I'm at the back of the East stand in the middle of a block and it would always be difficult to reach the buses in eighteen minutes or whatever it is. And what if there'd been extra time last night? So the club want to encourage people to use public transport do they? If you do miss the bus, what then?

Exactly. We are in Y25, so we barely get back to the bus in time for its 'official' leaving time (final whistle + 10 mins, I believe), because we have to circumnavigate the whole stadium on our return. Therefore, we leave a couple of minutes early just to get a head of steam up ahead of the hordes streaming out of the North Stand - even then we have to run the gauntlet of all the West Standers and Away fans that are heading in the opposite direction to get back into town (we've tried the Northern Way/B&Q direction, BTW, but that takes even longer) .

After the Liverpool game, our well-meaning neighbours joshingly tried to stop us leaving early in attempt to get us to revel in the historic nature of the victory. It was all done in great jest and we would have loved to join in, but I would just ask that people show understanding about people leaving early because of the daft way these Stagecoach routes are set up. They really shouldn't be made to park at what is effectively the away end of the ground, given that they are transporting home fans. It's absolutely stupid, and I have complained many times to no avail. Fortunately, up to now the drivers have always done a headcount. All it needs is a jobsworth, clock-watching driver to do the run, and we'd be stuffed.

Once again, I have to say: roll on Green Park Station!

I'm at the back of Y24 and never have a problem getting back for the Stagecoach buses. And I don't leave early either.

For all Stagecoachers in the East Stand, I recommend cutting though the Lower West concourse. If you go in the though the exit next to the Megastore and exit on the far side by the players entrance, you can easily save yourself 5 minutes trekking round the hotel. The concourse is also completely empty by the time I get round there so a quick route to avoid the crowds.

I'm in the North stand, but that still sounds like a top tip to me!
