Matchday reprints of cards/tickets
In line with our continual improvement programme we have recently made a change to our policy with regards to reprinting season tickets, Member Cards and match tickets on a matchday.

If your season ticket or Member Card has been mislaid please contact the Ticket Office in advance by emailing memberservices@readingfc.co.uk or telephoning 0870 999 1871. This should be done at least 48 hours in advance of the matchday.

Paper match tickets - Anyone forgetting their match tickets will have to wait until kick off for a reprint and in addition will have to complete a reprint request form giving the necessary details.

The credit/debit card used to book the tickets must also be produced. A reprint will only be done if the original ticket has not been used to enter the stadium. The reprint charge is £2 adults / £1 concession per paper match ticket.

Season tickets & Member Cards - Anyone forgetting their season ticket or Member Card is able to get a reprint, however you will be asked to wait until kick off has taken place. The card will be checked to ensure that no-one has entered the stadium with that Season Ticket / Member Card.

The current reprint charge is £10 adults and £3 concessions per card and the original card/s will be cancelled. The new card/s will have the same Customer Number as before. Your old card should then be destroyed.

The matchday reprint charge may or may not be excessive - I'd suggest that if they can reprint a lost concession card for £3 it's a bit naughty to charge a tenner for the same product to someone else (maybe even discriminatory) just because of their age.

Charging an admin fee because you choose to move seat is an entirely different matter and is, IMHO, entirely legitimate.

I lost my wallet back at Christmas and was charged £2 for the reprint of my ST. That price may have changed in the meantime but if it has, a 500% increase clearly isn't to cover materials!

What you and I consider to be legitimate charging policy is clearly different. I would just suggest that with customers (I don't like the word but that's what we are) probably more difficult to come by over the next few months at least, the club need to be more flexible and less fixated with screwing every last penny out of it's consumers. Otherwise this argument becomes academic as I'll be able to wander around and pick my favourite seat anyway!

I'm not sure it's just to do with cost of materials - there's the staff time as well.

I hear what you're saying about the cost, but there does have to be some disincentive effect from the pricing - you just would not believe some people..... before there was pricing they'd lose their ST virtually every week.

For them it was clearly easier to get a new one than to look for where they'd put it - so I think this is once again a case of the few spoiling it for the many.

The OS Seat moves price is now £3

Following customer feedback, the cost to season ticket holders of moving their seats ahead of the 2008/9 season has been reduced to £3.

The charge is to cover the cost of issuing a new season ticket card, and this is the standard reissue charge.

Well bollocks to that. I've a bloody good mind to pay them £10 anyway. The bastards.

They've also got to reissue cards to anyone who has a Premiership/Premier League logo version.

I wonder whether the customer feedback was verbal or took the form of lower than expected renewals to date!

Either way, they do seem to be responding to feedback a bit more these days, which can only be a good thing for both parties.

At £3 for a new card they barely can be covering their costs. Indeed, based on how much my company pays for similar cards, I suspect they might even be making a small loss.
