However, his post was entitled 'Charged twice for tickets!!!'. Therefore I, and most others it would seem, interpreted £40 x 2 as meaning that he had been charged £40 twice!

That could be 1 40 quid ticket twice, 2 twenty quid tickets twice, 4 ten quid tickets twice or many other combinations of tickets that total 40 quid
