Terminal Boardom The biggest, single mistake when it came to the stadium and the new A33 was that they built the new road on the wrong side of the stadium. Had the stadium been positioned between the Basingstoke Road and the new A33 Relief Road there would have been potentially 4 escape routes away from the stadium instead of the 2 and a bit that we have now.

That would never have worked.

1) Too many buildings would have required demolishing o create enough space
2) The A33 would have had to have gone way off course to provide enough space for all the car parking and dome.

The relief road was built AFTER the stadium was opened for business. No buildings would have needed demolishing. Your second point is more valid though.
