Travelling in y'day, heard a whole bunch of weekend tube closures being announced, but looking at the TfL site it doesn't look like any of them should affect anyone going to Selhurst from the Reading area. You might want to check if you're coming in from the East though.

EASTENDER MARKY Head for Thornton Heath, plenty of pubs there. Most notably the Railway Telegraph or something like that.


The Victoria just down from the Railway Telegraph has some good reviews.

Cherrytree at Norwood is where it's at, never had any problems in there

For future reference, anyone wanting a good pub head to Gypsy Hill (one or two stops from Norwood Junction) where there's a pub called The Colby Arms right opposite the station. A nice quiet pub with jukebox and pool table - perfect when you need a drink to forget an awful performance!
