RTFC Drummer
RTFC Drummer People often complain about the poor atmosphere at Mad Stand but I have come up with an idea to solve this and make it the best atmosphere in the Championship. The club should send surveys to each season ticket holder and fans what have membership cards. They then ask them: Are you vocal at matches and sing all day long? Do you sing and chant no matter what the score is? Do you go to away games and sing as loud as you can? Do often told to sit down when you’re chanting for the Royals? Are you a committed fan who will chant and sing even if Reading goes down?

Then after everyone has completed the survey the clubs then choose were to seat the fans who chant and sing all day long to make the best possible atmosphere at Reading FC. You then put have other sections were people do chant occasionally and some fans who don't chant at all. This is so the place is a electric no matter what the score is and not more like a power cut.

What do you think of the idea?

This idea is great, it will work but you lot seem to think the atmosphere is amazing, well its not and is more like being at a funeral. The West Stand is not vocal at all you can hear a pin drop its so poor, South Stand is no better with familes just wanting to do nothing to improve the atmosphere and they are also right next to the away fans but a uasual the away fans outsing them by miles, The East Stand is not that good with people only singing when they are winning or the ref is poor otherwise the fans don't get behind the team enough when they are loosing. The North is even worse with only a small section of fans singing, the rest of reading fans are reading newspapers and watching the game in pure silence.

THE TRUTH HURTS

i thought id found someone agreeing with your noncesense then

but no, its just you agreeing with yourself

we already have a system-with different stands having different ethos'
modern football fans dont stand and sing for the whole game anymore
i wish they did, but even at old trafford and newcastle there was much silence

To be fair at the Derby match I was really proud of our fans, sang most of the same some people stood the whole game, its just the old people that sit down, but when someone starts super reading fc or something everyone still stood up and sang it. The way we sang at Derby and stuff, I reckon our support will go on next year at a new higher level, more people want to move to y25/y26 where we can actually stand up and sing. I reckon our fans will be a suprise next season and then it will stop RTFC drummer from complaining every week

I would hazard a guess and say the support was there at the Derby game because it was our cup final. Our last chance to shine before the inevitable fate, I very much doubt this is a dawn of new support to come.

I think it's a badly thought idea and if the club try to move season ticket holders to different seats without good reason there will be a riot.

To understand what is needed to generate a cracking atmosphere you first need to look at the home games that had a cracking atmosphere.

My suggestions for improving the atmosphere are to ban anyone under the age of 16 from attending and reduce the price of beer by at least 50% and relax the language and standing rules slightly.

The small number of Reading fans who aren’t actually illiterate, in prison or operating under assumed identities and so will both receive and understand your mind-numbing questionnaire will lie any way as no-one like to be thought of as a plastic fan.

While you’re at it, you might as well tackle the age-old problem of what constitutes average, by asking them to rate their cock size and disclose their number of sexual partners.

Would that be the games where the team actually played well? I wonder? There's an idea for improving atmosphere, make sure that we have a fecking great team and they play to their potential every fecking week!

We need a Reading FC anthem - that would get people singing!
Perhaps we could have a bell as well becuase Portsmouth has a good atmosphere.
And get more working class people.

Sarah Star And what's wrong with my spelling?!!!

Nothing. I was drunk when this thread started and I was getting carried away with my posting on this clearly ridiculous thread. The speeling off the originel postre was bad, and I just ... never mind, I lost myself now. Anywho, it was nothing to do with your spelling.

Somewhere on the east side, I think. Not too close to the pitch as the seats get hit by rain, snow, sunstroke and pigeon's, so I'm told. Probably, wherever there's a space by the time I come to get my ticket.

Thanks for taking an interest.
