£10 cheaper on a hellish 5 hour bus trip with a change...probably worth the extra tenner.

cheers, but last train Banbury to Reading 22.00. could be tricky , I think it would be dependant on catching the 17.41 from Nottingham. how far is the city ground from the station? anyone?

About a mile or so. 17.41 should be OK if you get away without delay.

They send you out of the ground the wrong way so you have to go down Colwick Rd/ Ratcliffe road, but you should still make it within 30 mins.

You don't actually change at Banbury. Reading - Birmingham (via Banbury), change at a Birmingham for Nottingham.

So as long as you're in time for the train back from Birmingham - Reading (via Banbury) you'll be fine.

Dep Nottingham @ 19.10, arr Birmimgham New St @ 20.24

Dep Birmingham New St @ 21.04, arr Reading @ 22.41

Then you run the risk of being stuck in a car with Friday's Ghost for 3 hours...
