Electronic advertising boards

by Reading Abbey » 15 Oct 2006 14:27

Seems most big clubs have them these days, even Plymouth have them. Come on Reading, we're getting left behind.

Probably set up at Plymouth specially for Sky TV. Probably not there for other games. I wonder how much they cost?

Did you see how many St James' Park had during the game last weekend? There seemed to be way way too many of them. And they also had three different sort - the electric kind, the roller kind and the plain banner kind. It was a bit distracting I thought.

I'm with you on that, but if it means more money made from advertising, then it'll be tough titties to us.
Do agree they are a bit of a distraction though.

Mate is a Fulham fan and hated them being there on Monday night. He said they were much brighter there than they appeared when he saw the goals on TV and gave him a blinding headache.

Surely if this is the case then it is against H&S?

And what happened to our player friendly boards? If a player tripped onto the boards we have at the moment, they could do some serious damage

Yeh but they looked rubbish! They didn't even go in a straight line.

I dread electronic advertising boards at the MadStad because I expect them to be so distracting.

On the other hand there were electronic boards at the Boleyn Ground the other week but after 90 seconds I didn't find them distracting at all.

I think Hunt and Sonko are more H&S cases rather than electronict advertising boards which add a bit of glamour!! Geez.
