The DVD To End All DVD's?

by Thou Voice » 10 Nov 2008 16:20

Again, I am confused...

...at half time - watch the big screen at the Emperors O-Ring and yes sire, you will see that they talk about 10 Years at the Stadium and mention a 10 year DVD...

...yet, it's not in the shop and they know nothing about this claiming there is only a book?

What is going on here - is the screen wrong - has anyone seen this mysterious DVD that they claim "You pick the matches", I would truely love to get this for Thou Voice JR, but as yet cannot.

Please help!

i thought i saw it saying that the fans get to choose what games are featured on the dvd

so my understanding of it was that the club were advertising the fact that we get a say in what is on the dvd

Unless I missed it, it doesn't say anything on that link about when it's going to be released though (or even when the vote ends).

Knowing RFC's commercial department it'll be released on January 2nd, just in time to miss all out on all the potential Xmas orders.

Probably something for next summer, anyone see beyond these 10 games?

1 Reading v Luton (1st game)
2 Reading v Oxford (that 4-3 in the pouring rain)
3 Reading v Wigan (playoff semi final 2nd leg)
4 Reading v Derby (5-0 title clincher)
5 Reading v Middlesbrough (first Premiership game)
6 Reading v Liverpool (first big 4 side to fall)
7 Reading v QPR (the one where Murty scored)
8 Reading v WBA (FA Cup 3rd Rnd Replay)
9 Reading v WHU (6-0)
10 Reading v Spurs (3-1)

A truly comprehensive history of our ten years at MS should also include Pants Day, and losing 0-6 to Bristol Rovers

The highs don't mean anything without the lows.

Ahhh thank you.

I'll wait until Jan 2nd...

...cheers for the link to what is going on with it.

Ideally I'd like to see full matches rather then some glorified MOTD, in this day and age, you could do that on a 5 DVD set easily.

Change the Spurs game for the Palace game in our promotion season 2006, the one when Lita scored the overhead kick. The best game of football I have ever seen.

That was indeed the best game ever. And should be at the top of anyone's list. I think they should be doing a "top 3" vote so that they get a broad spectrum of the top games. By rights, with only 1 vote, there should only be 1 game on that DVD.

Yep, also the game where Barry Hunter scored a late equaliser to head off a brewing pitch invasion. The atmosphere was poisonous that day with people fighting amongst themselves in the East.

Also Bristol City on the opening day in 1999. Gerard Lavin et al. And the two 3-3 games against Bournemouth (Mark "Cheating Bastard" Stein).

I'd like to add RFC 0-0 WHU on 11/9/2001 in the League Cup, RFC go through 6-5 on penalties.
