I love the whole team celebrations you always get at the World Cup.

It's a massive thing for nations like Japan who do not get regular opportunities to play against some of the best/most prestigious sides in the world.

I'll be really pleased for Japan if they manage to hold on and win this (it's still a good result if it ends up a draw). They came close to an upset in 2018 when they were unfortunate to lose to Belgium in the Last 16 and gave a good account of themselves there. They've got some good players in their side; you can argue the players that have come off the bench in a lot of cases were better than some starting.

Certainly an underdog to do pretty well for their standards this year.

Must stop giving up on games at half time.
Assumed Argentina would rack up the goals second half.
Likewise Germany today

Amazing stuff

Hard to tell if Germany were protesting or doing the fvcking annoying thing that footballers do when they talk to each other so nobody can lip read what they're saying.

If we're talking worst World Cup, I know everyone goes on about it being some sort of footballing renaissance but a lot of Italia 90 was pretty dreadful.

The Germany game mirrored the Argentina game.
Penalty to the fancied team, scored but then underdogs score twice to win and cause a big upset.

Brexity,Sun-reading St George flag-wavers in their element with firstly the Argies and now the Krauts both losing.
Both results now set up some very intense group games over the coming days.
Good stuff.

I don't think that Spain nor Belgium will come unstuck but who knows?

US ‘94 was fairly uninspiring too.
