Orion1871 I apologise unreservedly to Richarlison.

Yeah, it’s aged well

Well 23 minutes, anyway

That was outrageous from Richarlison

The touch before the bicycle kick was almost as good as the finish

Why didn’t Tottenham sign this Richarlison ?

Wonder if he’s more injured than it first appeared

Couldn't see him in the post match celebration in front of the fans either.

He’s clearly a generational talent, but they actually looked more dangerous without him involved (and not just after he was taken off)

Found it tough doing my predictions this time around for the second round of matches, particularly now the likes of Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Morocco etc all have given themselves a chance and we've seen what they are capable of. Even teams like Ghana last night who lost showed they will be no pushovers either.

I think the only teams who may finish the group stages with 0 points this time around are Qatar and Costa Rica (possibly Iran too but think they might nick something against Wales).

Looking at some of the tables today, it's quite funny to think that all of Denmark, Tunisia and Australia could realistically finish on 2 points with one of the 3 going through, whereas Germany, Japan and Spain could all finish on 6 points, with one of them going out. Probably an unlikely sequence of events though.

Even though we have had a couple of big shocks I am officially considering this a bit of a boring world cup so far.

I don't think it's too bad personally, I don't think there have been too many poor games from what I've seen, even some of the 0-0's have been relatively entertaining. Possibly the Switzerland or Ecuador game might be considered the worst games so far overall based on what I've seen/read.

I think there's somewhat of a novelty to a winter World Cup as well.

Still on the fence with Iran, could well be that we are better than I gave us credit for after a poor Nations League, perhaps on the same token I took that competition too seriously and Southgate and England just used it for World Cup prep.

Azmoun and Taremi will be tough customers for Wales to deal with, if Iran can get enough quality into them they will cause them all sorts of problems. Iran will have definitely targeted this game and USA as their opportunities to get points, but they have to get something here at least, a win would do them the world of good.

This is how I've seen it so far too. Not many "bad" games, and as you say, some of the 0-0s have been decent.

That 7-1 really did for Brazil - still doesn’t look likely the Germans will be here too long so Brazil will have no problem overhauling that.

Is this the same Iranian side that played England or is it just that Welsh will only turn up in the one game they have against England?

Wales pretty fortunate not to be 1 down. There was no need for that last clearly offside pass

Sanguine
Silver Fox Fair enough, I guess it's just one of those things that seem true, doesn't help when they've got players called things like Rodriguez, which doesn't seem like a Swiss name to me (not that I'd know what a typical Swiss name is!)

I think my generic Swiss super-villain would be named Stefan Frei.

I've already said his name as a typical Swiss but surely there is no greater Swiss super villain than Sepp Blatter?

Also with you guys. Enjoying it so far. And most of the goalless games have been decent. Certainly less stressful than watching Reading
