Silver Fox I don't understand the LOLz @ Chelsea here, it's not like they're a team with an history so why hold on the name of the ground with any fervour?
Also, generally speaking, what's the problem with selling naming rights to a stadium, if you need cash and some clown will always pay to sponsor anything just do it.

PieEater I can't see how Newcastle actually get anything out of it if Sports Direct is owned by Mike Ashley. It's just some free publicity for his company.

Elm Park would have always been Elm Park to us, even if it had some local business or who ever sponsoring it. I'm led to believe there was once a tentative approach made to Reading regarding a possible sponsorship or the Madejski Stadium. It was believed to be from Vodafone, around 99/00, back when they were based in Wokingham. Pride before profit came to mind.

For what it's worth I think Vodafone have always been based in Newbury.
