Today the Newcastle United Supporters Trust formally launches an ambitious bid to take back our football club. We need supporters like yourself to back a supporter takeover - for more information visit http://www.nust.org.uk

There are a number of ways to invest in the club and after discussions with serious Newcastle-based investors we believe that the time is right for the fans to lead the charge and reclaim their football club. The investment is backed by a local consortium of companies advising the Trust, and we've made sure that any investment is safe and guarateed to be returned to you if the bid fails.

The Yes We Can campaign will run for 6 weeks, and we have a financial target which we are not announcing yet, as we want to negotiate from a position of strength with Mike Ashley.

The fans can lead the way where others have failed - by standing together and investing together - we can make our club the shining
beacon of honesty and integrity and bring the city together to save our club from the current regime, its mistakes and its calculated
snubs.

When Derek Llambias said the fans could not buy the club - we said YES WE CAN - and now we aim to prove it with your support.

Good luck to them, but unless they have some people with deep deep pockets involved I'm not sure what they hope to acheive that is better than they have now - bar getting Ashley out.

Only thing I can think is they hope to buy it and they sell it on to someone like Moat quickly or Moat is involved somewhere.

Doomed to failure on one of two counts:

1) in the act of buying out the club or;

2) if they manage to buy the club, in the running of the club and ensuring the craved success of the Geordie hoardes.

JOINT PRESS RELEASE

RANGERS FANS UNITE FOR CHANGE AND PROGRESS

The Rangers Supporters Assembly, Rangers Worldwide Alliance, Rangers Supporters' Trust and Rangers Supporters Association united today to urge Rangers fans around the world to consider playing their part in changing the ownership of the club.

The organisations are considering the options open to fans to invest in the club on a massive scale and on an accountable basis.

We are considering various options for this - whether on our own or in partnership with others. We intend that the future of the club will never again be reliant on the goodwill of a bank or any individual.

One option we are currently discussing with advisors is the changes necessary to turn the Trust’s Gersave scheme into a suitable vehicle for the gathering in of funds. However, any form of investment will only take place on the basis of the suitability of the terms gained in negotiations.

Rangers as a club cannot continue in the current state of limbo with the threat of being run by the Lloyds Banking Group. To move things on before the January transfer window we are formally inviting any potential credible investors to discuss their plans for the club with us.

Rangers fans are by far the biggest financial investors in the club. We are determined that the club will continue to flourish and never again will it run the risk of falling into the hands of a bank. We call on fans to be patient but to unite behind sensible proposals we hope to recommend to them over the coming months.

John McMillan - General Secretary, Rangers Supporters Association
Andy Kerr - President, Rangers Supporters Assembly & Rangers Worldwide Alliance
Stephen Smith - Chairman, Rangers Supporters Trust
