Stoke v Wigan

Stoke 1-2 Wigan...Figueroa (sp?) just scored from a freekick inside his own half!!!

As I'm typing this Shawcross makes it 2-2...this rather dull game has just gone crazy!!

Incredible free kick.

Delap really should have stood infront of the ball though.

I bet Pulis did him after the game.

Btw what is going on with the law of keepers coming of the line. They were tight on it for a couple of seasons after Dida in the Champions League final, but it just seems to have gone back again. Between the ref and the assistant, you'd think they could pick it up. Sorenson was a good 3 yards off his line....

But Gomez was about 30 yards offside when he was fouled for the pen...........

A cracking strike for the Wigan 2nd goal..ofcourse Alan Hansen had to have a complaint about the defending though!

(Wasn't scored by a top 4 player so clearly something had to be wrong..)

Also clearly advocating cheating. If he'd been standing in the way it would have been obstruction, possible yellow card (doubtful) and the ball moved forward 10 yards.

Thought that as well..he said Liverpool did it all the time in the 80s though.

But then you could bash the goalie into a goal and go in for really hard 2 footed tackles...

LOL - what year you living in?

The moving of the ball forward 10 yards got chucked out after 1 season, years back!

Anyway, its not obstruction as its a dead ball and the rules state that if a player wishes to take a quick free kick the opposition do not have to be 10 yards away. It is up to the ref to move the players back 10 yards - they cant just give a yellow card without warning!
