And tbf, he's hardly set the world alight in the final third for Liverpool this season so would be wasted up there instead of Frankie

Smoking Kills Dancing Doe I dunno Cappello will have to bollox to tell Stevie to play the holding role, rather than all the 'release the G force' crap we had under Sven.

With no Barry/Hargreaves, Gerrard is the best option.

Spot on.

Gerrard is our best holding midfield IF the manager gets him to play there in the right way for the good of the team. Unfortunately he's also our best attacking midfield (very close run thing with Lampard of course, who, for the record is obviously in better form) and our best right back.

It wasn't so much the players that were wrong under McClaren and Sven, just the way they were instructed or allowed to play.

I'd love to see Johnson on the left with Milner on the right. Intelligent, techically capable players are better than sprinters with football boots in place of spikes (although Lennon did have a brief spell of looking decent this season, but it was brief!).

Hampered by injury (Lennon).

I'd like to see a midfield of Gerrard holding and Lampard attacking with Milner on the left and Lennon on the right. Just get the ball into the right hand channel and see who's faster beween Lennon and full back. Then, after 60-65 mins, take off Lennon for Walcott who's even quicker against a knackered full back.

Really hope we take Johnson as well
