Featured a lot in the Sky highlights of Hartlepool's win last night. Good to see ex-Royals doing well.

Did anyone see the first goal David Mooney scored for Colchester?

Aka Van Basten!!

Personally I think he's the best "atural" goalscorer we have at the club....................and he's being frozen out!

I got laughed at yesterday for saying we hadn't given him a proper chance. Though, tbf, I thought he'd scored more than 3 goals for Norwich.

Yes, one wonders why Long and Church etc. get chance after chance and we never see Mooney yet he's a hit when out on loan with clubs and does score with at least the same ratio as the rest of our menacing  forward line.

Perhaps is has something to do with us asking our forwards to do something different to his loan clubs?

Perhaps it has something to do with the three managers he's played under here just not seeing enough from him to warrent replacing players doing just as well as him at a higher level?

Joe got a terrible injury that put paid to his hopes. He did well at Cork though, even getting in the ireland squad at times. Certainly looked good for 'Pool, well done Joe!

Perhaps when Mooney gets an appearance for us in the league we have to give x amount of money to Cork?

Joe Gamble is a superb name for a footballer. They just don't have names like that anymore. Headline writer's dream as well.

What makes you think he was a hit at Norwich and Charlton?

Charlton fan I worked with last year certainly seemed to rate him.
