QPR Wembley Move

by Harpers So Solid Crew » 05 May 2011 18:31

Seems that it could be a possibility, The FA have a load of debt to clear, and the owners of QPR can afford it!!

Some kind of plea bargain type deal.

I look forward to QPR's attempt to fill one end, let along the whole stadium.

I don't believe this is genuine for a second

Not likely, didn't Arsenal ask if they could use it for European games but were told no?

But they did use it for European games, I went to several there when I was a teenager.

Arsenal definitely played European games at the "Old" Wembley - not sure if they asked the FA regarding the "New" Wembley though...

Arsenal's home UEFA Champions League matches in the 1998–99 and 1999–00 seasons were played at Wembley Stadium, as Highbury's already limited capacity had to be reduced to accommodate advertising hoardings.

Arsenal's record at Wembley (P6 W2 D1 L3) was relatively poor, and after two seasons the club switched back to playing at Highbury, not least because since Wembley closed for rebuilding in October 2000.
