Blackpool fan continues PNE baiting
A Blackpool fan has struck another blow for the club in the battle of the banter against Preston North End, after they spelled out 'PNE CRISIS' on a gameshow.
Countdown, a mid-afternoon English show popular with students, requires contestants to decrypt an anagram at the end of the show and recently relegated Preston fans watched in despair as 'PNE CRISIS' was revealed. The answer being 'Priciness'.
A Channel 4 spokesman said: ''One of the members of the production team is a life-long Blackpool fan and it was intended to be friendly banter, all done in good humour.''
Blackpool and Preston fans have hit the headlines of late for a series of stunts that, most recently, saw a plane fly over Preston's Deepdale ground with a banner across the sky that read: 'We are superior. Love Blackpool FC.'

'Poor little Preston, enjoy League One’
BLACKPOOL fans enjoyed a laugh at their arch-rivals with an aeroplane stunt over Preston North End’s Deepdale ground.
Saturday’s match saw a light aircraft fly over PNE’s stadium trailing a gloating message about their relegation to League One.
After the game, Preston boss Phil Brown hit out at those behind the stunt and said he wanted to “shoot down” the plane as it circled overhead.
The banner read: “We are superior love Blackpool FC.”
Later in the match the plane reappeared with a message reading: “Poor little Preston enjoy League One.”
Brown, an ex-Seasiders player and assistant manager, said: “Seriously if I had a gun I would have shot the plane down. Arrest me now if you want.”
It’s not known who was responsible for the stunt. Blackpool Supporters’ Association chairman Glenn Bowley said: “I think it’s just banter, it’s part of the friendly rivalry between the two teams.
“They put banners on the M55 when we went to Wembley last year. I don’t know who came up with it but I think Phil Brown needs to get a sense of humour.”
