I see Manchester City are re-housing the away fans along the side of the pitch in the upper tier. So they can have two tiers of 'unbroken' City fans to help create a better atmosphere.

Nothing to do with the the requests from the plod then......? There have been a number of clashes between home and away supporters over the last couple of seasons, and the plod and council have both written to the club on a number of occasions over the last 24 months asking the club to consider changes to the seating plan. I wouldn't expect atmosphere had much to do with it. That might be the line the club are selling though, (I haven't seen the article), but with sets of home fans either side of the away support and both being very vocal, it doesn't take much to cause trouble.

Can't see how Man Utd can have a pop at City's support. United only took 1,000 or so fans to Liverpool.

Besides most people in Manchester support City.

Why do clubs think buy holding up a load of blue and white cards at the start is going to create a better atmosphere? OK looks good at the start when the teams come out, then just turns in to a litter throwing contest.
