There's truth in what he says, but only some of it.

Football wasn't invented in China. The Chinese invented a game that was a bit like keepy-uppy, but was nothing at all like football. The game wasn't invented in Sheffield either though, as he claimed.

He went on a rant about the Qatar authorities needing to wake up and realise they have to sell alcohol during the tournament. A little daft considering they said ages ago that they had no problem selling alcohol during the tournament.

Yes, FIFA are money-grabbing bastards, but hey, he helps run the premier league, so the moral high-ground isn't exactly alpine.

Claims about him being drunk are unlikely though, bearing in mind he was in a currently alcohol free country. The "swimming pool" wasn't actully a swimming pool either, and he just slipped and a foot went into a fountain, although that's still rather funny.

He ended up on all fours/face down in the fountain having stumbled a bit. Certainly looked like he might've been under the influence but perhaps he wasn't if it was a dry event.
