TheMaraudingDog Just 57k at Barca tonight. Massive club.

New season, new dreams, new aspirations, new sense of hope, new direction for football, new beginnings?

Same old boring, boring, shit from TMD.

Still, 1-0 to the Everton and United playing in tablecloths, perhaps it's all OK after all.

Pepe the Horseman
Mr Angry It was only a 20 minute cameo, but has RVP ever looked more anonymous on a football pitch?

Every game in the Euros?

Fair comment!

Looks as if Man Utd have done the same again as they did with Berbatov; pay over the odds for a player on his way down.

RvP will score shitloads this season unless he gets injured.

United will batter a lot of teams at home but lose the title on the odd away performance, with last night being an early taster.

They're crying out for a central midfielder, it's such an obvious weak point.

Starting to think fergie has the same dogged blind spot about his midfield that wenger used to have about defenders

But they have the everlasting Scholes and England's new central midfielder Cleverley.
Throw in the returning Fletcher and Anderson plus Carrick makes 5 and then the much talked up Jones and play anywhere Giggs and Young
and with so many other strikers Rooney might play there so are they really so short in that area?

Good to see them outmuscled and outthought by Fellaini just as happened a few months ago.
Didn't Fergie learn anything from the 4 goals that they conceded at Old Trafford?
But for the much-maligned De Gea (remember the idiots on here this time last year?) the scoreline could have been significantly higher.
BTW how come Vidic didn't get at least a yellow for pulling back Coleman?
Bottler Marriner who allowed Scholes and Nani to carry on fouling but did nothing having earlier given them yellows.

De Gea deserved every criticism he got last season, he was rubbish for the first half of the campaign. He improved towards the end and last night he was magnificent.

Thought Jagielka was outstanding last night too. Much have made 3 very difficult last ditch tackles that were timed to perfection not to give away a penalty

Blimey, lots of negative posts about United. They weren't that bad - they'll be fine, Everton away was the toughest game who the big 4 played over the weekend. Doubt many teams will go there and win this season. I believe it's best to play top teams at the start of the season before they've got into their stride.

When you look at the two penalties Liverpool conceded at the weekend, you might also conclude he was lucky not to give one away, when he rolled Welbeck off his thigh as he went to shoot.

Don't get the love for Wellbeck, esp played out on the left like last night. Sticking RVP out there left him pretty isolated last
night

All looked really disjointed last night for Utd. I actually think the midfield will be alright with Carrick (playing Busquets type role)
and then 2 of Scholes/Cleverly/Kagawa. Anderson needs to step up. Not sure where Jones fits in. Giggs should think about retiring
gives the ball away too much with all his little flicks (Scholes is great with the ball, offers little without it)

creative_username_1 . Anderson needs to step up.

Signed for a reported €30M 5 years ago and still struggles to get a starting place in their team. Must be one of the biggest disappointments in recent years for Man Utd
