Why does Wenger bring these 18 yard box strikers and play them out wide? Podolski is a limited footballer but a proper striker and he's got him as a left winger. Get Giroud out and put Podolski through the middle.

United haven't had to try hard enough to look good yet. They'd probably get more of a game out of Wigan or Fulham at the moment.

My interpretation is NO. If it had not hit his arm, it would have hit him in the face, so there was no advantage, only self protection. His arms were in a reasonable position, given the circumstances/ distance.
