frimmers3 the avb revolution marches quietly along.

What's he actually achieved? Are Spurs in a better position than when 'Arry was there?

Not exactly a revolution. He's a manager clearly not burdened by humility or lack of self belief.

that was the point.he is just quietly getting on with business.and getting results.out of the redtop radar.

Treading water is hardly a revolution.

ALOL at the ref for booking the Wycombe keeper for kicking the ball away in frustration after the fan jumped on him.

cmonurz It's all very funny now, but how long until one of these 'fans' has a weapon?

What a bizarre thing to say.

You'll have to explain that one.

How could you practically do anything more to prevent it happening? Do you suggest pat downs and metal detectors at each turnstile? electrified fences holding in fans? Police snipers to take out anyone encroaching the pitch before they get near a player just in case they might have something that could be used as a weapon and might use it?

Report I read said for kicking the ball away. The only footage I've seen does show him kicking it away but its been edited so no idea if thats what he got booked for or not. Harsh either way really.

What I wrote doesn't quite scan how I meant it. My point was that its all very funny now, but if/when one of these incidents is more serious, the preventative measures you described, or versions of them, will become more likely.

These kind of things must be at an all time low, so to worry about where its going to end (weapon etc.) seems to be an assessment of risk/hazard that is way off whack with the reality.

Of course. But when Monica Seles was stabbed a tennis court many years ago, it was out of the blue, when do you ever seen a tennis fan on court, unless he’s streaking? The ramifications of such an incident occurring on a football field, where fans more often encroach on the pitch, might be higher.

Anything to prevent it is uninforceable. Harsher penalties for pitch invasion maybe, but then fair oxf*rd if you're stupid enough to run on on your tod or in twos or threes.
