I normally couldn't give a shit about most players retiring but fair play to Giggs. I think he's won more than most clubs (apart from Liverpool and Utd)

What's Peter Barlow got to do with it?

Legend of the game, obviously. Was holding his own in the Champions League at 40, a remarkable player.

How old do I feel? I remember him making his debut.

Really think we could have won something with Giggs playing on the left

Giggs (Lampard/Gerrard/Scholes)* Beckham

Could have been a very useful midfield

A lightweight one with no tackling, yes.

Scholes was suspended for '99 due to his poor tackling m8

1 of those midfielders has won The Premier League, The FA Cup, The League Cup, Charity Shield, UEFA Cup & The Champions League.

yep still got a medal for it.

put the three of them in so you could choose who you wanted m8. Just trying to highlight that they're actually pretty good

And they've all won medals playing alongside other midfielders, who do the defensive side of the job...

Hmmm, this may be very unfair but I always think of Giggs as a somewhat unfulfilled talent, considering how exciting he looked when he first emerged. Yes he's had a very long and successful career but I don't think of him as a great individual player, more a part of a great team. I think Roy Keane had it right when he left him out of his greatest United XI saying "Having a great career doesn't mean you are a great player - there's a big difference."
