PL TV deal

by PieEater » 10 Feb 2015 18:44

As a BT broadhand user I was quite interested to see what BT would get.

Sky nick the current BT Sat 12:30 slot, BT get the later 5.30pm game as well as keeping the midweek games.

Sky keep Sunday games.

Looks like a good result for me as I usually miss the early BT game except if it's on at a pub.

I'm just wondering what this will cost the viewer and customer in total.
If you support a big club great, if your us its bad news. Clubs are gonna come into the championship with megabucks and ffp won't mean a thing. Scudamore was as clear as mud on this whole thing. One minute he's saying money will filter through the leagues, the next he's saying the gulf will widen between the Premiership and Championship, yet he's hailed as some sort of guru in the press tonight.

Well I'm pleased for you.

Of course, for the rest of football outside the Premier League, it's another nail on the coffin. There is now no point in trying to get promoted as the gap is so huge, the promoted clubs will come down with far bigger problems than those they had before promotion. As for Scudamore and his oh so charitable status, he's laughing all the way to the bank. He's managed to secure a PL that effectively has no relegation for those already established. It's absolutely obscene, and any football fan outside the rich list cartel, should be livid.

Well as a football fan supporting a minor club - I've been to Prem and it's shit.

The Championship is much better for the fans.

Of course it's an ongoing and worsening problem, but that's just a bit of an overstatement.

The gap is profound as it is, hasn't stopped Swansea and Southampton recently establishing themselves comfortably. There will always be plenty of clubs around bring shit loads of money in and completely wasting it - that's football.

People say that, but it's hard to make much of a case of late of Reading fans enjoying the championship more than the premier league days. I don't think I've ever known a worse atmosphere than this season, without the slightest hint of buzz about the crowd.

I'm not sure why one, maybe two problem seasons caused by massive off field upheaval is really justification for that.

One and a half PL seasons have been terrible. The Championship has been far more entertaining and exciting than the PL.
