LOL!

im talking relatively of course- she may have got decisions wrong- but i spent alot of the match thinking shed certainly outperformed many of the male linos.

how many did you think she got wrong? and how have you quantified it against previous male linos?

Victor Meldrew On the general point about presenters and co-commentators and studio pundits.
Are any of them necessary.
I'm sure that the vast majority watching are already football fans who have their own views about what they are seeing therefore it's not as if non-regular followers of the game are being informed.

I feel they are abosolutely essential in informing the lovely ladies what's going on during a game of football.

Of course, the ladies are probably not paying full attention as they're probably darning socks while sitting in front of the telly. That's what half time analysis is for. They can stop, put the kettle on and catch up.

I'd be surprised if any man has managed to go his whole life without making a sexist remark.

I make them every day when driving.

Women like to think they can multitask but they can't drive and put makeup on at the same time, though many like to think they can. They also can't drive and text (thanks Lady in the Audi Q7 who nearly caused a pile up on the M4 this morning) and they also cannot judge distances (width, length etc).

to be honest the sexism itself doesn't really bother me that much. If they'd just said it as some laddish joke it'd be a bit crap, but not much of a story.

The fact that they do genuinely seem to believe a qualified official wouldn't know he rule just shows them as being completely out of touch, and believing their own hype.

When she was lining us, she got one wrong by 2-3 yards. It was in our favour, second half I think, and involved Long I seem to recall. He was offside but it was not given. It was a ball over the top and Long latched onto it about 40 yards from oppo goal. It didn't come to anything. I can't remember another offside error of this magnitude. Short of having the match recorded, which I don't, I'm afraid it will remain just hearsay. Unless any other nobbers out there can recall the incident...

Andy Gray doesn't think she's fit? Looks good to me.

TBF - I'm usually all for women in uniform but I can't imagine the lino outfit doing her any favours.

bigmike They also can't drive and text

No one can...SAFELY.

Speaking of which, why is it that most phone offenders drive 4WDs? Is it part ofthe arrogance thing or is there a law that allows 4WD owners to drive and phone?

T.R.O.L.I.
Royal Rother Ok, it's a long shot but you believe that a woman who had been consistently humiliated and patronised whilst carrying out her menial duties for them would be the creep rather than the misogynistic twats themselves?

Maybe its Clare Tomlinson...

Maybe it is the poor wench who has to shave Keys' back every day.

I like to consider myself as being in favour of most things that are commonly regarded as 'PC gone mad' in our Clarkson inspired dystopia. But suspending Andy Burton for "she's a bit of a looker" and "X says she's all right", well that's PC gone mad? Or is it just Sky having a panic attack?

not really the same though.
if you came out and said something demonstrably sexist that called into doubt the ability of women to do the job, while in your workplace- and people overheard you and complained, then you may be in trouble.
different to having a "laugh" with your mates.

plus youd have to think that sky- as a massive corporation- for whom women make up a huge slice of their market-may take a slightly more dim view than you.

not that i want them sacked of course, im not sure what that achieves

Yeh there's no way he'd have been suspended for that if it wasn't for Gray and Keys at the weekend.

But Sky have got to be seen to be getting their house in order here - doesn't exactly look good does it?

Nor does it for hapless betting companies who for some reason see fit to pay Gray a ridiculous fee to act as an "ambassador" for them :|
