Channel 5 chap answered my question, seems they still coiunt double and I know the Liverpool h8rs will disagree but it seems harsh, especially as Forlan just scored

Liverpool's season will now end with them hunting for that Europa Cup place, which they are only getting because Pompey aren't allowed in

Athletico vs Fulham Final.

Liverpool knocked out by Man Utd reject.

Not good enough, no scarves, no you never walk alone - so a poor season ends.

Well done Fulham, Liverpool aren't good enough to make it.

LOLiverpooLOL.

Gonna cost then a hell of a lot to get rid of Benitez - 4 year contract worth £2M a year IIRC

I like the reinvented 21st century Liverpool. It's like a rollercoaster, just with very little ups and sh*t loads of laughs

No better sight in Football than seeing the scousers in tears on the Kop. I've lost count of the number of times I've seen it this season.
Well done Fulham. Who knows that could have been us if we stayed up and sent them down........... :(

But if they didn't count after extra time then the home team gains the advantage of having an extra half hour to score in their own ground with 40,000 fans behind them

Fulham absolutely deserve their big night out in Hamburg. To have seen off/competed with Roma, Shaktar Donestk (UEFA cup winners last year), Juventus, Wolfsburg and now Hamburg is a truly stunning achievement. Given that they started the campaign earlier than most over sides is the remarkable thing. Hodgson is a genuine likeable manager who has built a really decent competitive team on strong foundations with likes of Scwharzer, Hangeland, Murphy all in the form of their life. To have got the best out of Zamora who's been pretty poor since leaving Brighton is a testment to the manager. I just hope they show up and give a good account of themselves unlike Middlesborough who were outplayed against Sevilla in 2006.

That's how I feel about it, but I got a cuffing from Royal Rother (on grounds of it being "not logical") after saying so a couple of years ago. I didn't spare the time necessary to argue the point at the time and still fail to see quite how that would be so, but anyway...

TBM But if they didn't count after extra time then the home team gains the advantage of having an extra half hour to score in their own ground with 40,000 fans behind them

Yeah, but everybody's knacker'd by then (oftentimes the fans not least of all), but if it's truly that big of an issue, then just do away with extra time and go str7 to pens.

Delighted for Fulham in any case --just got done watching a delayed screening after watching the other one live and remaining ignorant of the result from the Cottage, and I never would've predicted that they'd've navigated their run of opposition all the way to the final, which I hope that they'll win.
