Germany didn't even play that well!

PEARCEY Going forward Germany have been superb but I can't recall England defending as badly as this before. This is the first time I can ever remember seeing England so badly beaten in the World Cup Finals.

frimmers3Row Z Royal Ignore Frimmers and he'll go away eventually.
why ignore the truth?..england are not,and will not be a world football power until the premiership is graced by domestic players. take your rosies of pal,and get real. the sun and sky tv do not world champions make. listen to an oldie grass hopper, sometimes they hit the spot....

Ideal Commentary on CBC says "They gave all four goals away, they were all preventable." and I fully agree with that.
Two goals = Terry
Two goals = Barry (one maybe James could have done better)

comeonyouroyals Also if you can name me a English striker who is better to build the team around please let me know.

Not sure i can agree here. Germany COUNTER-ATTACKED well but it was really only effective because the England defence was non-existent,

comeonyouroyals Rooney 63 games 25 goals, not to shabby considering he isnt played in a proper postion! Also if you can name me a English striker who is better to build the team around please let me know.

It all depends how you want to play.
If you want to play 4-4-1-1/4-5-1 where Rooney is "in the gap", then that's fine. You still can't build the team around him, because he is just that gap player.
You need a proper striker up front, someone like Alan Shearer or Les Ferdinand, who could both dish it out AND score goals. (Something HEskey CAN NOT do.)
When you put HEskey on, sure you gain heading ability, but then you hamper the team by having zero mobility, zero on the ball skill, and ZERO chance of the said player EVER scoring a goal, unless hell freezes over.
I think England would be better off having allround strikers that have a high work rate. For example Bent. It's a shame Kenwyne JOnes is from Trinidad.
Then you really must have a left wing, when you don't you get an unbalanced side. First of all you leave a big giant gap on that side when defending, and there's never going to be any threat from the left wing when attacking. It is just horrible. Pick anyone, even from the championship or league one, anyone who can bomb down the left and put the odd cross in. ANyone is better than having no one.

Ideal I don't know what you expect from your goalkeeper, but when you let Klose through on the goalkeeper by himself, I don't expect the goalkeeper to make the save.
Similarly when you allow Podolski to shoot from 10 yards I don't expect the goalkeeper to make the save.
However that one goal I mentioned, I feel like James went to the right when he should have gone to the left (his left), and that hampered his chance of stopping the ball. Perhaps if he had kept that one out it might have been a different game.

LoyalRoyalFan Upson was the weak link. Terrible defending.
Rooney is overrated, always has been. No effort at all.
And Capello can oxf*rd off.
by PEARCEY » 27 Jun 2010 17:34
FiNeRaIn LOL@ blaming James for that first goal when my dad and I could have defended that at the park. Jog on.

John Madejski's WalletRow Z Royal PLEASE don't clamour for the sacking of Capello. We had a great qualifying campaign and we've had a dip in form. Now we need continuity, to build for 2012.
Sorry, but Capello has shown himself to be clueless in thsi cup campaign....starting with the selection
He said he'd only pick players on form, and players who were fit...... but bottled it at the last minute and took out-of-form and injured "bigger name" players. I lost all respect for him right then
Same sh*t different name
