Royal Lady According to the E-Po we had a sell-on clause on him when he went to Stoke.

Some of these touted moves include player swaps. This would bring the cash swapping hands down. Would we therefore get less of the sell-on clause, or do the F.A look at the whole deal and what it's worth before working out our share?

Pretty sure most of those clauses were taken out when we re signed him on loan.

Does that mean we could do some sort of a deal (that involves cutting our coat etc) to get him back?

Well we sold him, according to EPo for 5.5 million, now he's apparently worth about 2 million, so if we wanted him back we'd get him at approximately 2 million less the percentage of sell on that we'd negotiated I suspect, and whatever the final amount, you can bet JM won't be paying it!

He is probably my all time favourite Reading player, would love it if he came back, but it wont happen.

When he re-signed on loan, i remember his first goal on that week night in Doncaster, he hit a late winner with a sweetly struck shot into the top corner, he then came over and celebrated with us all. Priceless moment

A lot of Kitson's fee was upfront i think. There weren't too many add ons etc apart from a sell on clause.

When we signed him back on loan Stoke wanted to recoup some of the money as they knew he wasn't likely to fit in or play much for them again. It's very rare that deals are done with sell on clauses these days. We bought out Doyle's 10% sell on for £250k when Cork were about to go bankrupt

Joined Portsmouth. Gutted. I detest that club something rotten. Sorry Dave but I wish you and Pompey nothing but failure and at least one more relegation.

To be fair it sounds as if the move was against his wishes.

Agreed, apart from the sorry Dave bit. I am not sorry to wish ill-luck on the pompous, pious, failing-to-provide Mr Kitson.

Failing to provide? All the years he gave us he rarely didn't deliver. I'm sure most of us would have him back in a flash. Not you obviously.

From a footballing perspective one of my favourites at Reading, a lovely player.

All the tabloid stuff? Don't give a shit, really.

Also one of my all-time favourite Reading players.
On the form of 3 years ago he would make our 3 current strikers not just look 3rd rate but maybe 4th or 5th rate if there were such things.
I wish him well personally at Pompey but obviously don't wish the club itself well.
