Hoop Blah
Silver Fox It's a good performance by Bale but in the long run exactly the same outcome as if you'd shipped another 4 in the second half

Will goal difference or goals scored not come into it if sides are level on points, or is it just results against the opposition?

I believe results between teams is the primary tiebreaker, but it's not important enough for me to go to the effort of checking

So when you said "good point" in response to Silver Fox you didn't actually mean it was a good point?

Clever.

i thought so. i may be a tad biased, but i think that that display from an injury/suspension ravaged squad away to the champions of europe sows the seeds of tottenham becoming a "big player" in club football despite several decades in the doldrums.

3 great goals, none of which would have been scored if the game wasnt already over.

SF is correct - however the "away goals rule" is also used when the aggregate scores are level so a 1-0 win at home would put Spurs ahead on the head-to-head rule.

He's a dream team sensation, quite remarkable really, because this time last year, he was in and out of the side, they couldn't win with him in it, and now, he is probably the best left sided player in the world, on current form, but what a waste of an international career.

Even better last season when Fantasy Premier League had him down as a Defender which meant 6 points per goal instead of 5 and a 4 point bonus for clean sheet instead of 3 8)

Even if he was English it would be a waste.

4 points for a cleansheet instead of 1, my son!

'Arry's been a bit of an arse and played him at left-back a bit in the league though recently.

You must be very clever to know that none of these goals would have been scored if the game wasn't already over....how the hell do you know that?
Bale caused Inter's right back problems all night. In the first half he beat him easily on a number of occasions and made it look effortless. As with many games the second-half became more stretched and Bale used his speed and skill to good advantage. Inter could not handle his pace when he had space to run into.
He's a terrific talent.

I'd argue Bale is one of the best left-sided players in the world atm.

Why do we Little British always do that?
It's always this "best in the world" that we seem to need-why not just frimmers bit about him being quite good?
BTW I read today that John Terry thinks that Rooney is the "best in the world",the other day it was all about Ashley Cole being the "best in the world" as a left-back.
Massive UK inferiority complex IMHO (Note the "H" ).

Fair point Kits-it's been a long day but the criticism wasn't (wrongly) aimed at you-it was at people (and there at lots of them)who always overhype.
