Re: Mills 0-2 Reading

On 7 July 2011, Mills left Reading for money and signed a four year contract with Leicester City for an undisclosed fee.[7] He was selected by the BBC as the club's key player for the 2011-12 season.[8]When he faced his old club Reading early in the season, he got fully merked. The Reading fans greeted Mills with a legendary Matt Mills salute.

I have seen three games where Mills has been captain (Cov, Rotherham, Reading) and I have a few points.

. He isn't worth 5million.
. He doesn't look like a captain.
. People used to get on at Hobbs' passing, but Mills' passing is as bad/worse.

He doesn't seem to talk (or talk little), or calm the players down or get them motivated. Yet, today I saw Wellens and Kasper talking more. I have faith in his ability, I liked him at Reading, but I don't think he is worth 5million.

I maybe proved wrong, hopefully. I am, but I have seen little so far to indicate he is worth the money. Three games can shape what player he is.

I also thought he could have opened his body up more when he conceded the own goal at Rotherham.

mills needs to act as a captain, he didnt do that today. ive seen more passion in sunday league.

He isn't a bad defender, but he isn't worth £5 million and he shouldn't be captain.

Many people would say the same thing, making a new player captain is ridiculous.

He was flaming poor today, Reading fans got the better of him, his passing was shite long balls not much better.

Reading fans have got there thoughts on him spot on, expect good performances but not week in week out, and expect frustration which I clearly saw today.

Mills was clueless, thing what grates me is everyone thought Mills was going to be a good signing one of our best.

Yes he is good but certainly not captain material like I said above, need someone vocal only player who seems to be doing that is our flaming goalkeeper of all players.

Kasper is the man, while Mills is pissing clueless.

Mills was absolutely diabolical. Not normally pessimistic and I'm not going to go for the 'What a waste of 5m' line, but he was shite.

Why is no one recognising the fact that he was was playing against his former team whose fans happen to (for some reason) hate him. The players can still hear during matches you know, and as soon as it started going badly for him it was always going to be a struggle for him today once they had an excuse to abuse him. Does it excuse the performance? Obviously not, but I'm just a bit surprised no one else has really attributed it towards the shocker.

Haha how fickle some fans are. This is what they were saying when they signed him:

Cue the odd Reading FC fans' comments: "He's shit", "Cost us too much", "overrated", overpriced", blablabla.

Got the same aura as Freddy Flintoff when I look at him. Any flaws he's got, he'll make up for with brutality and confidence. Fook it, we've finally got a proper defender. Amazing!!

Reading FC fans talk out there ar****! Never for one minute like them. Bunch of big timers. They think hes from Swindon, one of there rivals but cant accept he was there best player and now gone

TBH, not interested in abusing the guy after the event through any particular medium. If the fans in the stadium got to him, then job done but I don't really care unless it benefits Reading FC's fortunes. He played for us, he moved on. Not interested until they come back to the Mad Stad by which point we'll be cruising in the automatics 8)

No need to act like spoilt kiddies. Remember we've got to play them at home yet. Be prepared to reap what you sow.

Just a bit of fun, no need to get all uppity about it.

If a player isn't willing to take a bit of stick from opposition fans then he shouldn't be on twitter.

Maybe I'm too cynical, but I can't help but think the only reason to want his twitter address is to go and give him lip like loads of other people already seem to be.

At the match fair enough. Otherwise it just strikes me as a bit tasteless and lacking in good grace.
