Wonderful, good for them. They haven't won a trophy for 6 years but at least they'd have turned up for a meaningless match. Getting out of the group is one of the highlights of their season now.That and finishing fourth.

I was simply pointing out that English fans aren't as fickle as those abroad......they go to watch football, not just cos of the opposition/competition
