Apparently you can't stretch for the ball any more. Dyer's sending off was ridiculous. Referees should be punishing the intent and recklessness of any tackle, not the resulting foul that might occur when two people go for the ball.

Southampton looked anything but convincing against Leeds.

He was out of control and went through a player with his studs up.... it's dangerous, so it gets punished.

Wrongly.

And he wasn't 'out of control', he was stretching for the ball. You can't stretch for a ball with your studs pointing straight down. And he wouldn't have gone through the player but for the player arriving at that split second, himself going for the ball.

So you're saying that if the Wigan player hadn't got to the ball first then Dyer wouldn't have gone through him?

If that's a legitimate red, then football has gone beyond repair.

It's a fukking contact sport. Moaning fukking pretty haired little pcunts are spoiling everything...

Warnock predictabLOLy bleating about the ref after yesterday loss.

Yet anothing reason to hate Ken Bates - giving this tedious twat a route back into management.

I'm saying that Dyer's action, a stretch for the ball, whilst on a standing leg, was not a reckless or dangerous tackle. That he made contact with the Wigan player is unfortunate and it is a foul, but a red card for dangerous play should, imho, be issued for the nature of the tackle, not the result of it.

I thought Warnocks comments on the ref were valid.

Agree with the Bates sentiment though.
