St. Brynjar Another win tonight, 1-0 against Burnley.

A Leeds fan's in depth analysis:

Happier Days
Superb 2 wins in two .

Leeds utd are now Passing , Moving and entertaining a little bit more .
Safe of relegation and now won two games back to back . If we would of done this against Huddersfield and Peterbrough at home we would be Play-offs .
Anyway all ifs and butts .

But Macdermott has worked wonders , Paddy kenny passing it out , the defenders looking for it .
The midfield and even Austin Passing it more and battling . The movement up front .
Varney is still a poor finisher but trying and wins headers , always worth a spot on the bench maybe .
Morrison and Brown excluded .
The omission of Micheal Brown is superb , he is the worst player ever in a leeds shirt , his legs have gone .
Also Norris subbed and then dropped is superb , again he is pointless .

So the new manager and staff have already improved the freebies and journeymen .
Had a winger or two and a striker and we are looking good , very good .
Crowd of 16500 , understandible , midweek , and nothing to play for .

Like to go to the last game , maybe tempted but may have to work .

Macdermott signed a winger last year , McGerary from Forest so he definately spots and purchases good players .

Can't wait to go again and see players trying to PASS THE BALL .
FOOTBALL is back at ELLAND ROAD .

My 7 year old son may not be as bored now .

SUPER LEEDS UTD

MOT

Fcking 'ell, McCleary scored four goals against them in one match last season and they can't even get his name right.

I'm more surprised they can't get their own managers name right tbh.

Good for Bri, hopefully he's learnt a few things from his 'failures' with us this season too. An amicable-ish parting was the best scenario for both parties.

Looks like he's dropped Michael Brown. Hopefully told him to do one in the summer.

Ideal McDermott working his magic as usual! Another win, could still possibly achieve 67 points but would require the other teams to fail massively, but with the pressure now on, could they sneak into the playoffs?

Yep, home wins against Sheff Wed and Burnley are definite signs of Leeds heading for promotion.

"I told them at half-time that the crowd really wanted to get behind them. I've been at places where that hasn't been the case, but when we got to 1-1 it made a real difference."

F*ck off Brian, you should have gone before Christmas. Their fans'll suss out your long ball cheerleading pretty quickly.

I am not so sure about that. When he took over from BR and we had those cup ties against Liverpool, there was not a great amount of hoofball being played. What he did change was for Reading to become a bit more direct. The first half against Villa in the Q/F was as good as anything I have seen from a Reading side but that is because he had the players. The continual cloth cutting is what has led to hoofball and the subsequent relegation from the PL this season.

Yup this.

He's said (and shown) that he tailors the tactics to the players he has at his disposal. Simply put he had a worse team to work with in his final games than he did during his first few. Whether you blame Brian, Sir John, Anton, Hammond or Maggie Thatcher for that is personal choice but given these two lineups it's hard to disagree that we've actually somehow managed to get worse.

v Preston (H) 2010

Federici, M Mills, Griffin (Karacan), Bertrand, Pearce , McAnuff, Tabb, Howard (Gunnarsson), Kebe, Sigurdsson , Long (Church)

v Villa (H) 2013

Taylor, Kelly, Harte, Mariappa, Pearce, McAnuff, Leigertwood (Guthrie), Akpan (McCleary), Robson-Kanu, Le Fondre, Hunt (Blackman)

I'd take that 2010 side in a heartbeat.

That 2010 line up with a few additions at right back and defensive midfield in particular would've been able to stay in this division if we'd have kept it together. Just goes to show what a miracle last season was.

Yup, in fact even Andy Griffin in his 2010 form would have been about as effective as the Kelly/Cummings/Gunter monster from this season.

Tabb and Howard were a pretty effective duo in that five-man midfield. I never really understood why Brian broke it up for Gunnarsson & Jem at the start of 2010/11. I also wonder if Brian might have kept Cisse or Matejovsky if we had the financial flexability.....

So BM can coach players to pass out from the back and not lump it forward, so why the fcuk didn't he try that here? Adkins has, and there's already signs of improvement. Or maybe he learnt his lesson, that hoof ball wont work in the long-run, so he has to adapt his style.

As much as I like him, I can't wish him well there when they will be competing with us for promotion next season.

You're on a thread where Ideal is winding up to lionise McDermott at Adkins's expense. My comment didn't quote you and you weren't the target.

"Thinking-impaired" is an ungainly phrase, by the way.
